The Oompah Roundabout news.

The Oompah Roundabout are planning to go back into the studio (Gap Central recording studio)

to record their new song!

This will be their 5th single release. They are also planning a higher output this year (2015) with plenty of material to choose from they tell me they basically pull a song name out of a hat and that becomes the next release! Their new song is entitaled "Big Knob"! A catchy medium paced song with lots of lalalala's as Windy and Hormone put it in the song for everyone to sing a long to.

Hormone has just returned from a Holiday to Bali where he got two new tattoo's, a new cymbal and cow bell for The Oompah Roundabout studio drum kit and a nice new canon lense to use on future film clips at Halfanacker film studio.

They have also just bought a new old vintage YC-20 Yamaha organ that they will use on future songs and they have a video of that on The Oompah Roundabout uTube channel as well, With Hormone showing off his brilliant playing skills! George wobble, Hormone's much love shitzu just loves his playing! Poor Dog! hahahahaha

The Oompah Roundabout shoot new video!

The Oompah Roundabout shot the video for their new single "Breed with you" last night. ( 06-09-14 )

Halfanacker film studio came alive with their crazy antics, jumping around like monkeys on heat!

Pre-Production work was carried out at Windy Wobbles studio last week and a recapping viewing had

the boy's in fits of laughter!

They assure me the video will be in good taste!

The Oompah Roundabout's 4th single is out!

The Oompah Roundabout's 4th single is out and is currently available at cdbaby.com http://www.cdbaby.com/Artist/TheOompahRoundabout with iTunes,Amizon,Google play and all other online stores to follow!

The song is called "Breed with you"! A fast paced, rocker reminiscent of The Kinks, The Easybeats, The Knack, with a bit of The Jam and The Beatles thrown in as well!

Recorded at their home studio ( Gap central recording studio ) and mixed / mastered at The Wave shop in the USA, This is the first recording since the studios upgrade a short time ago! and the boy's are pleased with the results!

The layout and wall treatments have brightened the drum sound not to mention making more room for microphone placement allowing the boy's to try different mic setups!

In this song Hormone used his Rickenbacker for the rythum tracks and his mint coloured Fender stratocaster for the lead and over dubbed strums! adding texture and power to the guitar sound.

The video shoot is planned for early september and should be up on their uTube channel the end of that month!

Home recording studio, pT 2

Home recording studio PT 2.

The Oompah Roundabout were at it again yesterday! ( 12-6-14 ) Recording the lead break and re-recording the rythum guitar for their next single.

They have also decided to re-record the bass guitar after noticing some unwanted click sounds yesterday while putting down the lead. All this is the norm as on the first few listens, some things are not picked up. The boy's try to keep editing down and just replay the track, they say it's more fun than clicking a mouse!

Home Recording Studio Put To Work.

The Oompah Roundabout are back in their home recording studio working on two new songs!

Wanting to increase their output speed and get not only their back log material recorded, but also new songs that they write out as well.

The boys have also been busy doing some work to the live room of their home recording studio (gap central recording studio) in an effort to add more "reflection" to the sound the room produces.

Also the live room has been reorganised to create a bigger drum area for Windy Wobble, and giving the boys easier access for mic placement, as the boys love old school recording using accoustic drums and real instruments.

The Oompah Roundabout are 100% indie and have their own label (gonad records) for the release of their material.

They also produce their own film clips and call their production company Halfanacker films, named after an indoor cricket accident that Hormone Howe had some years ago.

( Nacker is "Australian slang" for Testical )

( Gonad is "English and Australian" slang, also for Testical )

The Black Keys.

The Black Keys is an American rock duo formed in Akron, Ohio in 2001. The group consists of Dan Auerbach (guitar, vocals) and Patrick Carney (drums). The duo began as an independent act, recording music in basements and self-producing their records, before they eventually emerged as one of the most popular garage rock artists during a second wave of the genre's revival in the 2010s. The band's raw blues rock sound draws heavily from Auerbach's blues influences, including Junior Kimbrough, Howlin' Wolf, andRobert Johnson.

Originally friends from their childhood, Auerbach and Carney founded the group after dropping out of college. After signing with indie label Alive, they released their debut album, The Big Come Up (2002), which earned them a new deal with Fat Possum Records. Over the next decade, the Black Keys built an underground fanbase through extensive touring of small clubs, frequent album releases and music festival appearances, and substantial licensing of their songs. Their third album, Rubber Factory(2004), received critical acclaim and boosted the band's profile, eventually leading to a record deal with major label Nonesuch Records in 2006. After self-producing and recording their first four records in makeshift studios, the duo completed Attack & Release (2008) in a professional studio and hired producer Danger Mouse, a frequent collaborator with the band.

The group's commercial breakthrough came in 2010 with Brothers, which along with its popular single "Tighten Up", won three Grammy Awards. Their 2011 follow-up El Caminoreceived strong reviews and peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, leading to the first arena concert tour of the band's career, the El Camino Tour. The album and its hit single "Lonely Boy" won three Grammy Awards.

The Oompah Roundabouts website.

The Oompah Roundabouts website is up and running! Oompah land, is what they call it. It features a free music player so their songs can be played, A growing photo gallery of the boy's and pic's they like. It also features the Oompa shop where their songs can be purchased and also future merch will be on sale. It also has a blog entitelled The Oompah blog that keeps everyone up to date with news on the band. Everyone is encouraged to sign up to the mailing list free of charge so the boy's can keep in touch. All the band links are also on the site! A bright easy to use site that is growing everyday.
